About

October 2010 – the Sunday School teacher planted the seed. He mentioned the National Day of Prayer, and the Lord mentioned the need for a day of fasting, a time when we allow ourselves to be broken before the Lord, a time when our focus is entirely on Him.

January 2011 – a prayer movement began called The Great American Fast. Although the warriors joined for prayer throughout the year via thegreatamericanfast.org, it set aside the second weekend of September for a day of fasting and prayer for our country. The fast began Friday night at 6:00 pm and continued until 6:00 pm Saturday night.

Those that could attend the national meeting in Lamar, PA did so, while others met in small groups, churches or individually across the nation and the world. Challenging preaching and times of great prayer filled the day. It was a delight to hear how God was working in our fallen nation.

September 2015 – because of situations beyond control, we decided that each church represented by the fast should hold her own meeting on the second weekend of September rather than meet jointly in Lamar. That has been the practice over the years.

January 2021 – there can be no doubt that 2020 was one of the toughest years the world has ever experienced in recent times. COVID-19 raised its ugly head. Rioters took to the streets. The government has become divided to the point of not being effective. It is obvious the nation, the world, is in need of prayer more than ever before.

At the same time, the Gospel has gone out greater than at any other recent time, and the subsequent revival came to be known as The Quarantine Revival of 2020. God reached into hearts and did wonderful works. He is still busy in the lives of men and women throughout the world.

But there is a need for God’s people to join in prayer like never before. As the world crumbles around us, won’t you please join us on your knees for this great nation, America, and for the world? Be a vital part of God’s plan for the end-times. Join us today!
